The center is prime real estate
The center square participates in four winning lines — more than any other position. Whoever controls it controls the pace and forces the opponent into defensive play on the classic board.
Build forks, avoid giving them
A fork creates two winning threats at once. Your opponent can block one line, but never both. Setting up forks is how virtually every decisive 3×3 game is won.
Block before you build
If your opponent has two in a row, blocking that square is the only thing that matters. Don’t push your own attack until their immediate threat is neutralized.
