Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect almost nothing, and what exists lives on your device. The long version is below. Last updated: August 30, 2026.

What we collect

Nothing that can identify you. PlayTicTac has no accounts, no sign-ups, no email forms, and no tracking. We don’t read your browsing history, don’t build profiles, and have no advertising — so there is nothing to sell and no one to sell it to. The site never sends your game data to us.

Where your progress lives

Scores, streaks, settings, and move history are stored in your browser’s localStorage — on your device, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data, or tapping the wipe button in the game, deletes it all. If localStorage is unavailable, the game simply keeps stats for the session.

Online play

Online rooms use WebRTC, so moves travel directly between the two browsers over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection — they never pass through our servers. To connect, a room code is briefly registered with the PeerJS signaling cloud (a third party), and Google’s public STUN server helps establish the connection. Those services see only what’s needed to set up the call: your IP address and the room code. Nothing about the game itself is stored by anyone.

Cookies & analytics

We don’t set tracking cookies and run no analytics scripts. No Google Analytics, no pixel, no fingerprinting. The only browser storage used is the localStorage described above, which lives entirely on your device.

Children

Tic Tac Toe is a game for everyone, and kids are welcome. Because we collect no personal information from any visitor — child or adult — there is nothing to register, share, or delete. If you have questions about privacy for a child using the site, contact us and we’ll answer.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we’ll update this page and the date below. Because we collect so little, most changes will be clarifications — but the “nothing to collect” part won’t change without telling you.
